Compact Hunter Pro-Spray pop-up body with riser extended

Hunter Pro-Spray pop-up sprinkler bodies are suited to lawn and landscape irrigation using separately selected spray or rotary nozzles. The riser extends during watering and retracts when the system switches off. Choose the pop-up riser height to clear the surrounding lawn or planting.

Each body has a 15mm (1/2") Female BSP inlet and accepts industry-standard female-threaded sprinkler nozzles, including Hunter Pro Fixed, Pro Adjustable, Pro High-Efficiency and female-threaded MP Rotator nozzles. Coverage, spray pattern and flow depend on the nozzle fitted. Nozzles are sold separately.

Standard Pro-Spray bodies have no built-in pressure regulation. PRS30 bodies regulate nozzle pressure to 210 kPa, suiting standard spray nozzles and MP Rotator minimum-radius settings. PRS40 bodies regulate nozzle pressure to 280 kPa, Hunter’s recommended pressure for normal MP Rotator operation. Choose the pressure setting using the selected nozzle’s performance chart and required watering distance. The PRS30 and PRS40 models in this range include a check valve to help prevent water draining from low-lying sprinklers after watering stops.

Side-inlet models include both bottom and side inlets for easy installation. A heavy-duty retraction spring returns the riser after watering, while the wiper seal helps keep debris out and reduce leakage around the riser.

Pop-up bodies are supplied with a grey flush cap. After installing the sprinkler body and before fitting a nozzle, run water through the system to flush dirt and debris that may have fallen into the pipe line during installation.

5 Year Hunter Warranty

To close an unused sprinkler, fit the Pro-Spray body shut-off cap to the body, or the shut-off nozzle in place of the watering nozzle.

Short Orbit pop-up spray body with orange nozzle

Orbit Professional pop-up sprinklers supplied with adjustable spray nozzles for lawn and garden irrigation. The riser extends during watering and retracts when the system switches off. Adjust the watering sector for corners, edges or open areas, and use the nozzle screw to reduce the watering radius by up to 25%.

The 50mm (2") pop-up is available with 10A, 12A, 15A and 18A nozzles. The 100mm (4") pop-up comes with a 12A nozzle and raises the spray higher above the surrounding grass. Choose a pop-up height that allows the spray to clear the grass.

Flush the pipework before installing the sprinkler to clear dirt and debris. Set the cap level with the finished ground surface and make sure the extended nozzle clears the surrounding grass.

The spray arc is how far around the sprinkler the water sprays. Adjust the arc at the nozzle to cover the required part of the lawn, or open it to a full circle for an open area.

Use the screw on top of the nozzle to reduce the watering radius by up to 25%. Make small adjustments with a flat-blade screwdriver and check the coverage with the water running.

Supplied nozzle performance

Pop-up height Supplied nozzle Watering radius Flow at 172 kPa
50mm (2") pop-up 10A Up to approximately 3.0m 2.23–8.97L/min
50mm (2") pop-up 12A Up to approximately 3.7m 2.65–10.56L/min
50mm (2") pop-up 15A Up to approximately 4.6m 2.84–11.39L/min
50mm (2") pop-up 18A Up to approximately 5.5m 2.80–11.81L/min
100mm (4") pop-up 12A Up to approximately 3.7m 2.65–10.56L/min

Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watered area. The approximate maximum watering distances above correspond to the 10ft, 12ft, 15ft and 18ft nozzle sizes. Actual reach changes with pressure and distance adjustment.

Flow figures are at 172 kPa and vary with the spray-arc setting. Both the 50mm and 100mm pop-ups with a 12A nozzle use the same nozzle flow figures.

For head-to-head coverage, space sprinklers so the spray from each one reaches the next. Use the watering distance after adjustment when planning the spacing.

Water use changes with the nozzle, arc setting and pressure. Opening the arc further increases the flow needed by the sprinkler. Check the combined flow of all heads that will run on the same zone.

Black Hunter SRM gear-drive sprinkler with riser extended

Hunter SRM Gear Drive Sprinklers for lawn reticulation.

This compact, economical gear drive waters smaller turf areas with a rotating stream. Interchangeable nozzles suit different watering distances.

The supplied nozzle options cover a 4.3–10.7 metre radius across the recommended operating pressure range of 170–380 kPa. Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watering pattern.

The arc adjusts from 40° to 360° for part-circle or full-circle watering. The top adjustment screw lets you shorten the watering distance. Choose the nozzle for both watering distance and arc so sprinklers on the same zone apply water at similar rates.

The Hunter gear drive adjustment tool is required for arc adjustment and is also used for nozzle installation and radius adjustment.

The plastic body has a 100mm pop-up height and a 15mm (1/2") BSP female inlet. Its overall height when retracted is 180mm. The removable filter screen can be cleaned if debris builds up.

Eight standard nozzle choices are supplied, with the 2.0 nozzle factory fitted. The nozzle trajectory is approximately 14°.

Warranty: One year.

Service parts include the replacement riser seal and spring seat. Check the seal’s model-identification information before ordering.

✓ Product Type and Application
Hunter SRM Gear Drive Sprinklers.

✓ Dimensions and Connection
Inlet: 15mm (1/2") BSP female.
Pop-up height: 100mm.
Overall body height when retracted: 180mm.
Riser: plastic.

✓ Coverage and Spray Pattern
Radius: 4.3–10.7 metres across nozzle and pressure options. Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watering pattern.
Spray arc: 40°–360°.

✓ Pressure & Flow
Recommended pressure: 170–380 kPa.
Operating pressure: 140–700 kPa.
Flow: 1.4–16.7 L/min across the nozzle range.
See ‘Precipitation Rate’ below for how the arc setting affects the amount of water applied across the area.

✓ Nozzles and Performance
Eight standard nozzle choices are supplied. The 2.0 nozzle is factory fitted.
Nozzle trajectory: Approximately 14°.

Performance example at 300 kPa, before radius reduction:
0.50 nozzle: 4.6 metre radius; 2 L/min.
0.75 nozzle: 5.2 metre radius; 3 L/min.
1.0 nozzle: 5.8 metre radius; 3.8 L/min.
1.5 nozzle: 6.7 metre radius; 6 L/min.
2.0 (factory fitted) nozzle: 7.6 metre radius; 8 L/min.
2.5 nozzle: 8.5 metre radius; 9.8 L/min.
3.0 nozzle: 9.4 metre radius; 12 L/min.
4.0 nozzle: 10.4 metre radius; 15.7 L/min.

✓ Adjustment
The top adjustment screw lets you shorten the watering distance. Choose the nozzle to suit the required flow and coverage; the family’s full radius range includes different nozzle options.

✓ Sprinkler Spacing
Spacing is the distance between neighbouring sprinklers.
For head-to-head coverage, each sprinkler throws water far enough to reach the next sprinkler. This overlap helps water the area between them evenly.
For example, a 7.6 metre watering radius suits sprinklers spaced 7.6 metres apart for head-to-head coverage. Use the actual watering distance after adjustment when planning the spacing.
A square layout places sprinklers on a square grid. A triangular layout uses staggered rows.

✓ Precipitation Rate
Precipitation rate describes how quickly water is applied across the area, measured in millimetres per hour.
For example, with the 2.0 nozzle at 300 kPa, a 180° half-circle arc and sprinklers spaced 7.6 metres apart:
Square layout: 17 mm/hour.
Triangular layout: 19 mm/hour.
At the same pressure, the same nozzle uses essentially the same flow whatever the arc setting. A smaller arc concentrates that water over a smaller area.
Different nozzle sizes can help balance watering between smaller and larger arcs, but they also change the watering distance. Choose nozzles that maintain head-to-head coverage; changing nozzle size alone may not suit an existing layout.
Where suitable nozzle combinations cannot provide similar watering rates, put sprinklers with different watering rates on separate zones so their run times can be set independently.

✓ Operation and Servicing
A removable filter screen allows cleaning when debris collects in the sprinkler.

✓ Warranty
One year.

Black Hunter I-20 sprinkler with blue nozzle

Hunter I-20 gear drive sprinklers combine tough body construction with individual flow shutoff and a built-in check valve for lawn and commercial turf irrigation.

The 100mm pop-up models have a tough rubber cover and a choice of plastic or stainless steel riser. The stainless steel riser adds wear resistance in demanding conditions. Both have automatic arc return, which restores the chosen watering pattern if the turret is turned out of position. The non-strippable drive helps protect the mechanism if the sprinkler is turned against its normal direction of travel.

The supplied blue standard and grey low-angle nozzles cover a 7.3–14 metre radius across the recommended pressure range of 170–450 kPa. Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watering pattern. Standard nozzles have a 25° trajectory, while the grey nozzles produce a lower 13° stream.

The spray arc adjusts from 50° to 360°, and the top adjustment screw lets you shorten the watering distance. Choose the nozzle for both watering distance and arc so sprinklers on the same zone apply water at similar rates.

The Hunter gear drive adjustment tool is required for arc adjustment and is also used for nozzle installation and radius adjustment.

FloStop allows water to be stopped at one sprinkler for nozzle changes and servicing while the rest of the zone continues operating. A built-in check valve helps prevent water draining through lower sprinkler heads after the system switches off, holding back up to 3 metres of elevation.

Each sprinkler has a 20mm (3/4") BSP female inlet and is supplied with eight standard and four low-angle nozzles. Plastic and stainless steel models are available individually or in boxes of 20.

✓ Radius Adjustment
The top adjustment screw lets you shorten the watering distance. Adjust it with a Hunter Gear Drive Adjustment Tool or a flat-blade screwdriver.
Use the nozzle size to establish the required coverage and flow, then make the distance adjustment.

✓ Arc Adjustment and Drive Protection
Set the arc using the top adjustment socket and a Hunter Gear Drive Adjustment Tool.
Automatic arc return restores the original arc setting if the turret is moved out of position.
The non-strippable drive protects the mechanism if the turret is turned against its direction of travel.

✓ Sprinkler Spacing
Spacing is the distance between neighbouring sprinklers.
For head-to-head coverage, each sprinkler throws water far enough to reach the next sprinkler. This overlap helps water the area between them evenly.
Use the actual watering distance after adjustment when planning the spacing.
A square layout places sprinklers on a square grid. A triangular layout uses staggered rows.

✓ Precipitation Rate
Precipitation rate describes how quickly water is applied across the area, measured in millimetres per hour.
For example, with the blue 3.0 nozzle at 300 kPa, a 180° half-circle arc and sprinklers spaced 11.6 metres apart:
Square layout: 10 mm/hour.
Triangular layout: 12 mm/hour.

✓ FloStop Flow Control
FloStop stops the water at the individual sprinkler for nozzle changes and servicing without shutting off the whole irrigation zone.

✓ Drain Check Valve
Built-in check valve holds back up to 3 metres of elevation to help prevent low-head drainage after the zone switches off.

✓ Warranty
Five years.
Black Hunter I-25 sprinkler with riser extended

Hunter I-25 gear drive sprinklers for large turf irrigation. Its sturdy construction supports a long service life.

Automatic arc return restores the chosen pattern after the turret is moved, while the non-strippable drive helps protect the mechanism. The colour coding makes the different nozzle sizes easy to identify.

The I-25 provides an 11.9–21.6 metre radius across its nozzle configurations. Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watering pattern. Recommended operating pressure is 250–700 kPa.

The spray arc adjusts from 50° to 360°.

The 100mm pop-up is available with a plastic or stainless steel riser. Both versions have a 25mm BSP female inlet and a 200mm retracted body height.

The built-in check valve holds back up to 3 metres of elevation, reducing drainage through lower heads after watering.

Five nozzle choices are supplied, with a 25° trajectory. The overall coverage and flow ranges include nozzle sizes beyond the five supplied.

Warranty: Five years.

The standard-pressure models cover a 7.6–15.2 metre radius across nozzle and pressure options. The stainless steel PRS model covers 8.8–14.1 metres across its supplied nozzles at 400 kPa inlet pressure. Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watering pattern.

The spray arc adjusts from 40° to 360°. The top adjustment screw lets you shorten watering distance by up to 25%. Eight standard and four low-angle nozzles provide different flow and coverage options. Choose the nozzle for both watering distance and arc so sprinklers on the same zone apply water at similar rates.

The plastic 5000 PLUS model adds individual flow shutoff and a SAM check valve. Shutoff allows nozzle changes and servicing while the rest of the zone remains on; SAM reduces drainage through lower heads after watering.

The stainless steel PLUS model adds a stainless steel-covered riser, SAM check valve and PRS pressure regulation. SAM reduces drainage from lower heads after watering, while PRS regulates nozzle pressure to approximately 310 kPa.

The nominal 100mm pop-up bodies have a 20mm female inlet. Nozzle selection, pressure and model determine watering radius and flow; the specifications separate the standard and pressure-regulated configurations.

The overall body height is 185mm when retracted.

Warranty: Five-year Rain Bird trade warranty.

✓ Radius Reduction
Turn the top nozzle-retaining adjustment screw clockwise with a flat-blade screwdriver to reduce the watering distance by up to 25%.

✓ Arc Adjustment
Set the spray arc from the top with a flat-blade screwdriver. The slip clutch allows the left-hand edge of the watering pattern to be repositioned.

Standard-pressure 5000 and plastic 5000 PLUS; standard and low-angle nozzles.
For example, with the 3.0 standard nozzle at 300 kPa, a 180° half-circle arc and sprinklers spaced 12.1 metres apart:
Square layout: 9 mm/hour.
Triangular layout: 11 mm/hour.
Stainless steel PLUS PRS model; 400 kPa inlet pressure, approximately 310 kPa regulated nozzle pressure.
For example, with the 3.0 standard nozzle at 400 kPa inlet pressure, a 180° half-circle arc and sprinklers spaced 12.1 metres apart:
Square layout: 10 mm/hour.
Triangular layout: 11 mm/hour.

Xcel Wobbler sprinkler with white top and black threaded base

Senninger Xcel-Wobbler sprinklers for nurseries, crop beds and under-tree irrigation. Water turns a grooved deflector with a wobbling action, spreading a rain-like full-circle pattern over a broad area at low pressure. Choose the 18° white-top or 24° black-top model to suit the spray height and coverage needed.

Sprinkler heads are supplied without nozzles.

The moving deflector spreads water across the area around the head continuously. This reduces the concentration of water in one place as it waters, helping protect the soil surface and maintain water infiltration. A counterbalanced design reduces vibration for smoother operation.

White-top 18° models have a lower trajectory. Black-top 24° models produce a higher trajectory and a larger wetted diameter in the chart. Both angles are available with 15mm or 20mm male inlets. The best choice depends on the available clearance and required coverage.

Nozzle comparison at 138 kPa

Diameters below are measured at a 0.46m riser height. Select the nozzle to suit the required flow and coverage.

Nozzle Opening Flow (L/h) 18° White Diameter (m) 24° Black Diameter (m)
#6 Gold 2.38mm 250 11.7 13.7
#7 Lime 2.78mm 341 12.4 14.3
#8 Lavender 3.18mm 450 12.5 14.3

#13 White 5.16mm 1222 13.6 16
#14 Blue 5.56mm 1415 13.7 16.2

Coverage figures are wetted diameters measured at a 0.46m riser height. Actual coverage depends on nozzle size, pressure, mounting height and field conditions. Wetted diameter is not sprinkler spacing.

Mount upright on a firm, well-supported riser at least 460mm high. Keep the spray clear of nearby plants. Use the selected nozzle and trajectory data when planning overlapping coverage and spacing.

Warranty: 2 years.

Small cast brass butterfly sprinkler with brass spinner

Butterfly sprinklers for garden and agricultural watering. Water turns the spinner, throwing the spray upwards and around the head. The water then falls onto the plants from above, helping it reach those behind nearer foliage.

Position each head so the spray can clear nearby foliage. How well it reaches behind plants depends on the mounting height and the height and density of the foliage.

Both standard brass inlet sizes operate at 150–250 kPa. At 200 kPa they use 16L/min and reach a 6.1m radius, equivalent to a 12.2m wetted diameter. The chart gives 14.5L/min and a 6.0m radius at 150 kPa, or 18L/min and a 6.2m radius at 250 kPa.

The Raindrop models use 17L/min at 200 kPa, with a maximum operating pressure of 200 kPa. Space them up to 6m apart in a triangular layout with staggered rows, or up to 5m apart in a square layout. These measurements describe the distance between heads rather than the watering radius of one sprinkler.

Rotoframe models have a 15mm or 20mm female BSP inlet and a 5mm nozzle. Both the spinner and frame rotate. At 200 kPa, the manufacturer performance table gives 14.7L/min and a 12m wetted diameter, equivalent to a 6m radius.

The zinc/chrome model has a 15mm male inlet and a 6m watering radius.

Detailed manufacturer specifications and performance data are not available for the basic plastic butterfly sprinkler (15mm female thread).

Black butterfly rotor sprinkler with threaded inlet and green nozzle insert

Antelco Rotor Max butterfly sprinklers for greenhouses, vegetable beds and under-tree watering. Water turns a spinner with two outlets, spraying upwards and around the head in a full circle. The 25° spray rises above the sprinkler before falling onto the surrounding plants.

Each sprinkler is supplied with the colour-coded nozzle for that model. The nozzle opening controls water flow, while water pressure also affects flow and coverage.

Mount upright on a suitable riser with a matching female BSP connection. Position the head so nearby leaves and stems do not block the spray. Allow for overlapping coverage when planning sprinkler spacing.

Nozzle comparison

At 200 kPa, the green nozzle uses the least water and covers a smaller area. The red and black nozzles both reach a 13m wetted diameter at this pressure, but the black nozzle delivers more water. The purple nozzle has the highest flow and reaches a 13.8m diameter.

Supplied Nozzle Flow at 200 kPa Wetted Diameter at 200 kPa
2.4mm green 315L/h 10m
2.8mm red 400L/h 13m
3.2mm black 540L/h 13m
3.8mm purple 775L/h 13.8m

Across 100–300 kPa, the four stocked nozzles cover 7.6–14m wetted diameters and use 215–975L/h. Use the figures for the selected nozzle and pressure when planning the system.

Performance figures are for upright 25° sprinklers on a 200mm riser. Wetted diameter is the width of the watered circle, not the distance between sprinklers.

The UV stabilised polypropylene frame and acetal spinner and nozzle suit outdoor use. The sprinkler can be taken apart for inspection and cleaning.

Plastic impact sprinklers for gardens, crops and agricultural irrigation. Full-circle models water all the way around the sprinkler; adjustable models let you limit watering to a selected part of the surrounding area.

An impact sprinkler uses the water stream to drive a spring-loaded arm, turning the sprinkler in steps as it waters.

11–14m radius across the listed configurations. Coverage and flow vary with nozzle size, pressure and adjustment. Use the performance chart when selecting sprinkler spacing.

The models are supplied with the nozzle configurations shown in the specifications.

The spray arc is how far around the sprinkler the water sprays. On the VYR-802 and VYR-66, move the two stop clips around the base to set where the sprinkler reverses. Check the sweep while watering and reposition the clips as needed. The VYR-37 and stocked D-Net 8550 are fixed full-circle models.

Narrowing the arc concentrates the same flow over a smaller area, increasing the watering rate. Match nozzle flow, arc and spacing when combining sprinklers on one zone to avoid uneven watering. Changing nozzle size can also change the watering distance.

For models with a 15mm or 20mm male inlet, use an impact sprinkler coupling to leave room for the moving parts that extend below the sprinkler’s threaded inlet. Sold separately.

✓ Product Type and Application
Plastic impact sprinklers for gardens, crops and agricultural irrigation. Full-circle models water all the way around the sprinkler; adjustable models let you limit watering to a selected part of the surrounding area.
An impact sprinkler uses the water stream to drive a spring-loaded arm, turning the sprinkler in steps as it waters.

✓ Coverage and Spray Pattern
11–14m radius across the listed configurations.
Radius is the distance from the sprinkler to the outer edge of the watered area.
Full-circle and adjustable part-circle models are available.

✓ Pressure & Flow
VYR-37 with 4.0mm + 2.4mm nozzles: 14m radius and 22.1 L/min at 300 kPa.
Coverage and flow vary with nozzle size, pressure and adjustment. Use the performance chart when selecting sprinkler spacing.

✓ Arc Adjustment
The spray arc is how far around the sprinkler the water sprays. On the VYR-802 and VYR-66, move the two stop clips around the base to set where the sprinkler reverses. Check the sweep while watering and reposition the clips as needed. The VYR-37 and stocked D-Net 8550 are fixed full-circle models.

✓ Precipitation Rate
Precipitation rate is how quickly water is applied, measured in mm/h. With the same nozzle and pressure, narrowing the arc leaves flow unchanged, concentrating water over a smaller area. Sprinkler Flush Head Plastic Blue 3.6m 90

Plastic flush-head sprinklers for fixed-pattern garden watering. Water sprays out level with the head rather than upwards. Colour-coded heads provide quarter-, half- or full-circle coverage to suit corners, edges and open areas.

Each head has an attached plastic nozzle. The spray pattern is fixed: use a quarter circle for a corner, a half circle along an edge or a full circle to water all the way around the head.

At 137 kPa, each pattern reaches a 3.65m radius. Flow is 2.83L/min for the blue quarter circle, 5.67L/min for the brown half circle and 11.35L/min for the green full circle.

The nominal 3.6m radius varies with pressure. The performance table gives a 3.35m radius at 103 kPa, increasing to 4.57m at 206 kPa. Match sprinkler spacing to the radius at the available operating pressure.

Includes one plastic sprinkler body with its attached nozzle in the selected pattern.

Small green plastic sprinkler surround

Sprinkler surrounds help protect pop-up sprinklers during lawn maintenance and keep grass clear of the spray. A visible border around the head makes it easier to find, trim around and adjust. The large commercial concrete models are designed to spread vehicle loads around the sprinkler.

The full concrete surround has a round outside edge. The half surround has one flat side for positioning beside an edge, while the quarter surround has two flat sides for a corner. The large commercial models are available in round and square shapes. Plastic guards are available in small and large sizes.

Small plastic surrounds suit typical pop-up spray bodies. Large plastic surrounds and concrete surrounds suit larger pop-up sprinklers, such as gear drives.

Choose an opening large enough to fit around your sprinkler. Make sure the sprinkler can pop up and spray freely without touching the surround. Set the top level with the surrounding ground and pack the soil firmly underneath and around it.

  • Small Plastic: 100mm outside diameter.
  • Large Plastic: 130mm outside diameter.
  • Full, Half and Quarter Concrete: 200mm size.
  • Large Round Concrete: 270mm outside diameter.

1.5 (factory fitted) nozzle: 8.2 metre radius; 6.8 L/min.
2.0 nozzle: 9.1 metre radius; 8.7 L/min.
3.0 nozzle: 10.1 metre radius; 12.9 L/min.

✓ Radius and Arc Adjustment
Set the arc from the top of the sprinkler. The radius adjustment screw lets you shorten the watering distance.

✓ Warranty
Five years.
