PVC DWV Waterproof Vent Cowl 50mm is fitted to the top of 50mm PVC DWV vent pipe to allow ventilation while providing additional protection against rainwater and insects entering the pipe.
The waterproof design combines a weather hood with wire insect-proof mesh. The hood helps shield the vent opening from rainwater, while the mesh helps prevent insects and vermin from entering without closing off the ventilation path.
The female socket fits over nominal 50mm PVC DWV pipe with an approximately 56mm outside diameter.
The socket is joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.
The stated 50mm size is nominal and does not equal the measured pipe outside diameter.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.
