Rain Harvesting leaf catchers, also known as rain heads, filter leaves, debris and mosquitoes from roof water before it enters rainwater pipework or storage tanks.
Fine stainless steel mosquito-proof mesh screens the incoming water. Leaf-shedding models direct debris away from the water path; enclosed models collect it in a removable filter. Some models have swivelling outlets for vertical or horizontal pipework.
Leaf catchers are useful on wet or charged systems, where water stays in the pipework between rainfall events. Keeping leaves and organic matter out helps reduce blockages and build-up within the system.
Inspect and clean the screen or filter periodically to maintain water flow.
