Hunter PGV and ICV solenoid valves control the water supply to irrigation zones. Select a valve to suit the required flow, operating pressure, pipe connections and controller output.
The 25mm PGV range includes bolt-top and jar-top models. Jar tops unscrew by hand to access the parts inside. Bolt tops require a screwdriver or socket to undo the screws securing the top. Flow control allows water flow to be adjusted at the valve.
Most valves listed here have a 24V AC solenoid for use with compatible irrigation controllers. The 25mm DC-latching PGV jar top is the battery-controller option. Check the controller and solenoid compatibility before choosing between AC and DC-latching versions.
To open the valve manually, turn the solenoid anticlockwise 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Turn it clockwise until hand-tight to return the valve to controller operation. This releases pressure above the diaphragm through an internal passage to the outlet, without discharging water into the valve box. The external bleed screw releases water and pressure from the chamber above the diaphragm to the outside of the valve. This allows the valve to open during servicing and troubleshooting. Keep the screw closed during normal controller operation.
The 80mm ICV has a glass-filled nylon body and a fabric-reinforced EPDM diaphragm and seat. The Filter Sentry version adds a built-in wiper that cleans the valve’s filter screen, helping keep it clear where debris is present in the water.
Select the valve using the zone’s required flow, available pressure and pipe connections. On models with flow control, turning the handle adjusts how much water passes through the valve.
