40mm black metric PE100 poly pressure pipe rated PN16 in a 6 metre straight length, with an approximate 4.0mm wall thickness. Suitable for irrigation, industrial and civil water transfer, and other compatible pressure applications.
The PN16 rating means the pipe has a nominal pressure rating of 1600 kPa, or 16 bar, at 20°C. The allowable operating pressure reduces when used continuously at higher temperatures.
The SDR11 rating describes the ratio between the pipe’s outside diameter and wall thickness. For pipes of the same diameter, a lower SDR number indicates a thicker wall.
PE100 is a high-strength polyethylene grade used for pressure pipe. It is tough and resistant to rust, rot, corrosion, abrasion and internal scale build-up, while its smooth internal bore supports efficient flow.
Manufactured to AS/NZS 4130, the pipe is commonly joined using 40mm metric compression fittings. Compatible 40mm electrofusion fittings can also be used where a welded connection is preferred.
This is plain black pipe without the blue service-identification stripe normally used for drinking-water pipe. Confirm potable-water certification and project requirements before selecting it for drinking-water supply.
