Grundfos UNILIFT AP12.40.04.A3 suits rainwater, groundwater and suitable non-aggressive grey-water drainage, with a maximum flow of 233.4L/min and maximum head of 10m. These are separate limits. Actual flow depends on lift and pipe resistance; the matching 50Hz performance curve helps assess expected flow for the installation. Performance is 120L/min at approximately 7.9m head.
The outlet is 40mm (1 1/2") Rp / BSP female thread. Maximum particle diameter is 12mm. The pump suits water containing small amounts of suspended solids, but not sewage, long fibres, stones or aggressive and flammable liquids.
It is supplied with a separate float switch and a control box containing the motor starter and overload protection. The float starts and stops the pump automatically as the water level changes.
For a permanent float-switch installation, allow a minimum pit diameter of 550mm and depth of 600mm at the minimum free float-cable setting. The float must move freely. Maximum installation depth is 7m with the 10m cable. Keep at least 3m of cable above liquid level. Install on a firm base clear of sludge and mud. Keep the inlet strainer covered during pumping and do not run dry.
This version uses a 400V three-phase, 50Hz supply and has a 10m cable without a plug. Rated motor output P2 is 0.4kW and input power P1 is 0.7kW. The supplied control box contains the motor starter and overload protection; a separate controller is not needed for the supplied float-switch operation. Connection must follow the installation instructions.
Suitable liquid temperature is 0-55°C and pH is 4-10. The pump can operate upright or horizontally with its outlet at the highest point. For permanent installations, Grundfos recommends a union, non-return valve and isolating valve in the outlet pipe. Lift the pump by its handle.
The stainless-steel housing and semi-open stainless-steel impeller provide a compact drainage pump for portable or permanent use. A cooling jacket directs pumped liquid around the motor, supporting partly submerged operation while the inlet strainer remains covered. The removable inlet strainer gives access for cleaning.
