PVC pressure slipfix fittings are telescopic PVC-U repair fittings with a solvent-weld socket at one end and a pipe-size solvent-weld spigot at the other. They are used to repair damaged PVC pressure pipe and make connections where existing pipework or components cannot easily be moved.
The telescopic body can be extended to bridge the required gap. The socket fits over PVC pressure pipe of the matching nominal size, while the spigot has the same outside diameter as matching PVC pressure pipe and inserts into a compatible moulded PVC pressure fitting socket. When joining directly between two pipe ends, a separate matching PVC pressure coupling is required on the spigot side.
Both solvent-weld connections are joined using PVC priming fluid and pressure-rated solvent cement. PVC pressure pipe sizes are nominal, so the stated size is different from the measured pipe outside diameter.
Slipfix fittings are suited to repairs and modifications in residential, commercial and agricultural irrigation, garden and landscape watering, domestic and rural water supply, pump systems and compatible PVC pressure pipework.
