Anchor Industrial Silver Gal combines an epoxy binder and metallic pigment with 48% zinc dust in the dry film. The coating helps protect steel through barrier and sacrificial zinc action while leaving a light silver finish.

It is intended for ferrous substrates, including mild and heavy gauge steel, and for touching up welded joints and damaged galvanised areas. It can be left as a protective finish or overcoated with suitable acrylic or epoxy paint.

Remove rust back to sound metal and clean away oil, grease, dust and other contamination before coating. Do not use rust converter beneath Silver Gal: its acid can react with the zinc, causing bubbling and reducing corrosion protection.

Apply light, overlapping coats to the clean, dry surface. Follow the Silver Gal application and drying instructions before handling or overcoating.

✓ Surface Preparation
Remove rust back to sound metal and remove dust, grease, oil, wax and other contamination. Allow the surface to dry before coating.
Do not apply over rust converter: acid can react with zinc, causing bubbling and loss of corrosion protection.

✓ Application
Shake thoroughly for one minute with the mixing ball rattling freely; shake occasionally during use.
Hold upright, 20-30cm from the surface.
Apply smooth, overlapping passes.
Initial application: Two light coats, allowing one minute between coats.
Use additional light coats as required for coverage.
Recommended application temperature: 15-30°C.

✓ Drying, Recoating & Curing
At 25°C and relative humidity below 50%:
Dry to handle: Approximately 30 minutes.
Recoat: After one hour.
Full cure: Within 14 days.

✓ Coverage & Topcoating
Approximate coverage: 1.2m² per 400g can.
Coverage varies with film thickness, conditions and spray technique.
No topcoat required; may be overcoated with suitable acrylic or epoxy paint.

✓ Storage
Recommended storage: 15-30°C, away from sunlight and ignition sources.
Minimum shelf life: Two years when stored as specified.

✓ Safety
Extremely flammable aerosol; keep away from heat, sparks and flames.
Use with adequate ventilation and follow the matching safety data sheet for protective equipment.
Protect from sunlight and do not expose above 50°C.
