PVC DWV test opening tees are installed in a straight pipe run to provide a removable access point for testing, inspection and maintenance of the drainage system.
The capped test opening remains closed during normal use. The cap can be removed when access to the inside of the pipework is required and refitted afterwards. The cap is supplied with the fitting.
Female-female versions have a female socket at both ends, with both sockets fitting over PVC DWV pipe of the matching nominal size. Male-female versions have one female socket that fits over matching pipe and one pipe-size spigot that fits into the socket of another matching fitting.
The pipe connections are joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.
PVC DWV pipe is identified by its nominal size, which may differ from its measured outside diameter. Please confirm the correct DWV pipe size before ordering.
