Alderdice floating foot valves retain prime in a pump suction line while following the water level in a dam or river. Two floats support the valve through a drop bar and tee, keeping the intake assembly floating as the level changes. The gunmetal bronze valve has a threaded side outlet, allowing a suction pipe fitting to connect without a bend at the valve.
BSP side outlets are available in 32mm, 40mm and 50mm sizes. The non-return valve closes against reverse flow when pumping stops. The floating arrangement supports the intake at the surface rather than fixing it at one level.
Use the size-specific pressure-loss curves when assessing suction performance. The flow charts are a guide only; they do not provide a fixed flow capacity for every pump installation.
