155mm Class 9 PVC-U borecasing for lining water bores. Manufactured from rigid, unplasticised PVC (PVC-U) to AS/NZS 1477.
155mm is a specialised borecasing size with an approximate outside diameter of 168.2mm, internal diameter of 154.2mm and wall thickness of 7.0mm. Use fittings matched to its outside diameter; standard 150mm pressure fittings do not fit.
Class 9, also called PN9, has a nominal working pressure rating of 900kPa at 20°C. The allowable working pressure reduces as the pipe temperature rises above 20°C. Select the pipe class to accommodate the system pressure, including pressure surges, and use fittings with a suitable pressure rating.
The borecasing uses solvent weld joints. Prepare the mating surfaces with priming fluid and use pressure-rated solvent cement suitable for the joint design. Follow the manufacturer’s jointing and curing instructions before placing the pipe into service.
The smooth internal surface helps limit friction losses as water passes through the pipe. Flow capacity depends on the internal diameter, pipe length, fittings and available pressure.
Install the borecasing to the bore design and manufacturer’s instructions. Account for bore depth, external loads and ground conditions; the internal pressure class is not a depth or collapse rating.
