PVC DWV Snap-On Tees are used to add a branch connection to existing PVC drainage pipe without cutting the main pipe into two sections.
The curved snap-on body fits over the outside of the existing pipe and is solvent welded into position. Once the joint has secured, an appropriately sized hole saw is inserted through the open branch socket to cut an opening through the wall of the main pipe. The cut-out and any loose material are then removed before the branch pipe is solvent welded into the socket.
Standard snap-on tees connect a branch pipe of the same measured outside diameter as the main pipe. Reducing snap-on tees connect a smaller branch pipe to the larger existing pipe.
The stated sizes refer to the measured outside diameters of the PVC pipes the fitting is designed to suit, rather than nominal DWV pipe sizes. Confirm both the existing pipe outside diameter and branch pipe outside diameter before ordering.
The snap-on body and branch socket are joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. These fittings can be installed on compatible horizontal or vertical non-pressure drainage pipework.
