PVC DWV rubber ring repair couplings are used to join or repair two sections of matching PVC DWV pipe without solvent welding.
The coupling has a rubber-ring socket at both ends and no centre stop, allowing it to slide fully along the pipe and then back over the joint. This sliding design is useful when removing a damaged pipe section and installing a replacement section, typically with one repair coupling at each end.
Before installation, clean the pipe ends and the inside of the coupling. Check that both rubber rings are clean, undamaged and seated correctly, with no dirt or debris on or behind the seals where accessible.
Apply suitable PVC rubber-ring jointing lubricant before sliding the coupling into position. PVC priming fluid and solvent cement are not used for these joints.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are identified by nominal size, which does not equal the measured outside diameter. The 100mm coupling suits approximately 110mm OD PVC DWV pipe, while the 150mm coupling suits compatible pipe with an approximately 160mm outside diameter.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.
