Rubber Ring Slip Coupling
PVC DWV rubber ring repair couplings are used to join or repair two sections of matching PVC DWV pipe without solvent welding.
Both ends of the coupling have rubber ring seals, and the internal centre stop found in a standard coupling has been removed. This allows the repair coupling to slide fully along the pipe so the pipe ends can be positioned, then slide back across the joint.
The rubber rings create the seal around the outside of the pipe. Suitable pipe lubricant should be applied to the rubber rings and pipe during installation to help the coupling slide into position without damaging or displacing the seals.
Because the joint is made using rubber ring seals, PVC priming fluid and solvent cement are not required.
The stated size corresponds to the nominal PVC pipe size the coupling is designed to suit. Confirm the outside diameter of the pipe where compatibility is uncertain, particularly when working with stormwater pipe.
