DWV Male Iron Coupling 40mm x 1 1/2" BSPM

PVC DWV male iron couplings have a PVC DWV socket at one end and a male BSP thread at the other.

The socket fits over matching PVC DWV pipe, while the male BSP thread screws into a fitting or component with a matching female BSP thread.

Join the socket to the pipe using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.

The DWV socket size and BSP thread size identify separate connections. Sizes are described in metric measurements, with the nominal imperial BSP equivalent shown in brackets where appropriate.

The fitting body is made from PVC-U. “Male iron” is the traditional name for this type of male threaded connection and does not mean that the fitting is made from iron.

PVC DWV pipe and fittings are identified by nominal size, which may differ from the measured pipe outside diameter.

PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.

✓ Product Type & Size
PVC DWV Male Iron Coupling
(PVC DWV Socket x Male BSP Thread)

✓ Function & Connections
Has a female DWV socket at one end and a male BSP thread at the other. The socket fits over matching PVC DWV pipe, while the male thread screws into a fitting or component with a matching female BSP thread.

✓ Pipe & Thread Sizing
The socket suits PVC DWV pipe of the matching nominal size and outside diameter. Thread sizes are stated in metric measurements, with the nominal imperial BSP equivalent shown in brackets where appropriate.

✓ Connection & Jointing
Join the socket to matching PVC DWV pipe using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ. The male BSP thread screws into a matching female BSP connection.

✓ Material
PVC-U. “Male iron” is the traditional name for this type of male threaded connection and does not mean that the fitting is made from iron.

✓ Applications
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.

✓ Standard
For PVC-U drain, waste and vent systems to AS/NZS 1260.
