PVC DWV female iron couplings have a PVC DWV socket at one end and a female BSP thread at the other.
The socket fits over matching PVC DWV pipe, while the female BSP thread accepts a fitting or component with a matching male BSP thread.
Join the socket to the pipe using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.
The DWV socket size and BSP thread size identify separate connections. Sizes are described in metric measurements, with the nominal imperial BSP equivalent shown in brackets where appropriate.
The fitting body is made from PVC-U. “Female iron” is the traditional name for this type of female threaded connection and does not mean that the fitting is made from iron.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are identified by nominal size, which may differ from the measured pipe outside diameter.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.
