PVC DWV Bush Reducing 80mm x 50mm is used to reduce an 80mm PVC DWV fitting socket to fit 50mm PVC DWV pipe.

The larger 80mm pipe-size spigot has an approximately 82mm outside diameter and fits inside a compatible 80mm female fitting socket. The smaller 50mm female socket fits over nominal 50mm PVC DWV pipe with an approximately 56mm outside diameter.

This is a socket reducing bush. The 80mm pipe-size spigot is designed to fit into a matching fitting socket rather than inside 80mm pipe.

The spigot and socket connections are joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.

The stated 80mm and 50mm sizes are nominal and do not equal the measured pipe outside diameters.

PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.
