PVC DWV Bush Reducing 100mm x 80mm is used to reduce a 100mm PVC DWV fitting socket to fit 80mm PVC DWV pipe.
The larger 100mm pipe-size spigot has an approximately 110mm outside diameter and fits inside a compatible 100mm female fitting socket. The smaller 80mm female socket fits over nominal 80mm PVC DWV pipe with an approximately 82mm outside diameter.
This is a socket reducing bush. The 100mm pipe-size spigot is designed to fit into a matching fitting socket rather than inside 100mm pipe.
The spigot and socket connections are joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.
The stated 100mm and 80mm sizes are nominal and do not equal the measured pipe outside diameters.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are suitable for use in stormwater, sewerage, wastewater, vent, and other non-pressure applications.
