The Netafim grey vacuum breaker admits air when draining water creates vacuum in a dripline or distribution pipe. This helps protect the pipe from excessive vacuum and reduces the risk of soil being drawn back into dripper outlets.
A large air opening allows air to enter quickly. The four-part assembly consists of a cover, cap, diaphragm and body, allowing access to the internal parts for inspection and cleaning.
The valve has a 15mm male threaded connection and a maximum working pressure of 400kPa. Its reinforced nylon, polypropylene and EPDM construction resists corrosion.
Install at a high point within the irrigation zone so air can enter the connected lines as they drain. Where a mound creates another local high point, a separate air/vacuum connection may be needed. Keep the air opening clear of soil and standing water.
