The Grundfos PM2 automatically starts a water-supply pump when pressure falls, keeps it running while water is being used, and stops it when the flow ends. Its start pressure is adjustable from 150 to 500 kPa, so the setting can be matched to the system. The front display shows water pressure. Dry-run protection helps protect the pump from running without water, and the cycling alarm can stop repeated starts caused by a small leak.
Suitable applications include clean-water household supply, rainwater systems, irrigation and pressure boosting. Use clean, thin, non-aggressive and non-explosive liquids without solid particles or fibres.
Inlet: 1" BSP male thread.
Outlet: 1" BSP male thread; the outlet connection rotates to suit the pipework.
Maximum operating pressure is 1000 kPa. Match the pump’s pressure capability and the height of the highest outlet to the controller’s start setting.
Start pressure can be set from 150 to 500 kPa in 50 kPa steps. In normal water-demand mode, the pump continues to run while flow is detected and stops after flow falls below approximately 1LPM, with a 10-second delay. The selected start pressure is not a constant delivery-pressure setting.
With a suitably sized external pressure tank, PM2 can instead be set to stop the pump when pressure rises to 100 kPa above the chosen start pressure. In this mode, pressure determines both starting and stopping. The internal 0.1L tank is too small to replace the external tank required for this setting.
Dry-run protection stops the pump if the controller detects neither pressure nor flow during priming or normal operation. Optional auto reset can retry after dry-running or cycling alarms. A selectable 30-minute maximum continuous-running function can stop the pump if water demand continues unexpectedly; leave this disabled where longer legitimate runs are required.
A built-in non-return valve helps retain system pressure. The outlet rotates to suit the pipework. The front panel displays system pressure as well as running and alarm status.
The controller uses a 220–240V single-phase, 50/60Hz supply and has an IP65 enclosure.
Install downstream of the pump and upstream of the first outlet, with the operating panel visible. Keep cable entries from pointing upward, protect against freezing and prime the pump before operation. Match the pump, control setting and system pressure before starting.
