Franklin FPS-9A-05 is a 0.75kW High Capacity bore pump for irrigation, tank filling and water supply. Pump-end head is 23m at 140L/min before check-valve losses. This version is 230V single phase, two wire.

The performance figures describe the pump end without check-valve losses. Actual delivery depends on pumping lift, required outlet pressure, check-valve losses and pipe resistance. Use the 50Hz performance chart to assess expected flow for the installation. The pump operating range is approximately 50-190L/min, with best efficiency at approximately 90-170L/min.

The outlet is 50mm (2") BSP female thread. An integrated stainless-steel wafer-style non-return valve reduces return flow when the pump stops. These pumps are for bore water with minimal sand or sediment.

230V single phase, two wire. The BIAC starting switch is built into the motor. Motor overload protection stops the motor if it overheats or overloads. Two supply conductors plus protective earth.

For automatic operation, connect suitable tank-level or pressure controls. Where the bore water level could fall below the pump, use dry-running protection to stop it before it draws in air. Extend the motor lead with correctly sized submersible cable and a waterproof joint for the installation depth.

Install vertically with the motor below the pump, allowing clearance for the pump, cable and pipe connections. Maximum motor submergence is 150m below the water surface. Keep the assembly at least 1.5m above the bore bottom and position it so water passes the motor before entering the pump. Support it with suitable pipework and a safety cable; never lift or suspend it by the electrical cable.

Standard motor application allows water up to 30°C. Higher temperatures require manufacturer assessment of motor loading and cooling. Water must flow around the outside of the motor to remove heat. Fit a flow sleeve where the installation cannot provide the cooling flow required by the motor nameplate, including tank and open-water installations. Keep the complete pump and motor submerged; do not run dry.

The discharge head, outer casing, motor bracket and shaft are stainless steel. Thermoplastic impellers and diffuser assemblies provide the hydraulic stages. Impeller eye and hub seals reduce internal recirculation; a ceramic sleeve and rubber bearing help resist sand wear.
