Grundfos UNILIFT KP250 pumps suit rainwater, groundwater and suitable non-aggressive grey-water drainage, with a maximum flow of 186.6L/min and maximum head of 7.5m. These are separate limits. Actual flow depends on lift and pipe resistance; the 50Hz performance curve helps assess expected flow for the installation. Performance is 66.7L/min at approximately 6.8m head.
The outlet is 32mm (1 1/4") Rp / BSP female thread. Maximum particle diameter is 10mm. Suitable for water containing small amounts of suspended solids. A and M versions suit appropriate grey-water duties; AV vertical-switch versions are intended for clean water. They are not sewage pumps and are unsuitable for long fibres, stones, abrasive solids or aggressive and flammable liquids.
The A version uses a tethered float to start and stop automatically as the water level changes. It needs room for the float to move freely. The M version has no level switch and requires supervised operation. The AV version uses a vertical level switch with fixed start and stop levels, making it suitable for smaller clean-water pits.
Allow a minimum pit width of 350mm and height of 400mm for the A version at the minimum free float-cable setting. The AV version requires a minimum pit diameter of 250mm and height of 400mm and must be installed upright. With the supplied 5m cable, maximum installation submergence is 2m. Keep at least 3m of cable above liquid level.
The pump uses a 220-240V single-phase, 50Hz supply and comes with a 5m cable and Australian plug. Suitable liquid temperature is 0-50°C and pH is 4-9. Internal thermal overload protection stops the motor if it overheats and resets after cooling. Keep the inlet covered during pumping and do not run dry.
The stainless-steel housing and semi-open stainless-steel impeller provide a compact, corrosion-resistant drainage pump. Pumped liquid flows through a cooling jacket around the motor, helping cool it during partly submerged operation. Two lip seals with grease between them seal the shaft.
