The Davey DC10A drains clean water from sumps and shallow pits, transfers water and helps remove floodwater, with a maximum flow of 80L/min and maximum total head of 6m. Actual flow depends on lift and pipe resistance; refer to the performance curve to assess expected flow. Its fitted float switch starts pumping when the water rises and stops the pump as the level falls. The float needs space to move freely. Performance is 40L/min at approximately 3.5m head.
The pump has a 25mm (1") BSP male thread outlet and handles neutral-pH clean water containing up to 10% small soft organic solids below 4mm diameter. Suitable water-feature applications are domestic fountains and waterfalls without fish or aquaculture. Do not use it for sewage, abrasive sand or grit, fishponds, aquaculture, or pool and spa circulation.
The 100W motor uses a 220-240V single-phase, 50Hz supply and has automatic-reset thermal overload protection. The pump has a 10m oil-resistant power lead with a 3-pin plug.
With a 10m lead, maximum installation submergence is 7m. Stand the pump upright on a firm base clear of sediment, and lift it by a rope attached to the handle rather than the power cable. Do not run the pump dry.
The double casing directs pumped water around the motor shell before it leaves the outlet, providing cooling when the pump is only partially submerged. Partial submergence does not permit dry running; water must remain available at the inlet.
The outer casing, suction strainer and handle are ABS, with a glass-filled ABS pump casing and a polycarbonate impeller. The motor shell, shaft and fasteners are 304 stainless steel. The silicon carbide/ceramic mechanical shaft seal runs in a captive oil bath, supported by an oil seal and sand-slinger lip seal.
The DC10A carries a two-year Davey warranty, subject to the manufacturer conditions.
