PVC pressure snap-on plain tees are PVC-U fittings used to add a 90° branch to an existing PVC pressure pipe without cutting the main pipeline. The snap-on section fits over the outside of the existing pipe, while the plain branch provides a solvent-weld socket for connecting matching PVC pressure pipe.
PVC priming fluid and pressure-rated solvent cement are applied to the prepared mating surfaces before the fitting is snapped onto the existing pipe. Once the fitting is securely installed, a hole is drilled through the existing pipe inside the branch opening to allow water into the new outlet. The branch pipe is then solvent-welded into the PVC pressure socket.
PVC pressure pipe sizes are nominal, so the stated size is different from the measured pipe outside diameter. Confirm the correct pipe and branch sizes before ordering.
Snap-on tees are intended for low-pressure applications and are commonly used in irrigation, garden and landscape watering and other compatible low-pressure PVC pressure pipework.
