PVC pressure snap-on faucet tees are PVC-U fittings used to add a female BSP threaded branch to an existing PVC pressure pipe without cutting the main pipeline. The snap-on section fits over the outside of the existing pipe, while the branch provides a female BSP thread for connecting a matching male BSP threaded fitting or component.
PVC priming fluid and pressure-rated solvent cement are applied to the prepared mating surfaces before the fitting is snapped onto the existing pipe. Once the fitting is securely installed, a hole is drilled through the existing pipe inside the branch opening to allow water into the threaded outlet. The female BSP branch then accepts a matching male BSP connection, such as a sprinkler riser, nipple or other compatible threaded fitting.
PVC pressure pipe sizes are nominal, so the stated pipe size is different from the measured pipe outside diameter. Confirm both the PVC pressure pipe size and BSP thread size before ordering.
Snap-on faucet tees are intended for low-pressure applications and are commonly used in residential, commercial and agricultural irrigation, garden and landscape watering, sprinkler installations and other compatible low-pressure PVC pressure pipework.
