The sockets fit over the PVC pressure pipe and are joined using PVC priming fluid and pressure-rated solvent cement. This joining method is known as a solvent weld joint, or SWJ.

Manufactured from rigid PVC-U, the elbow is suited to changing direction or creating offsets in commercial and agricultural irrigation, rural water supply, pump systems, pool and spa equipment, general water transfer and compatible PVC pressure pipework.
