PVC pressure compression couplings are PVC-U fittings used to join or repair two lengths of matching PVC pressure pipe without using solvent cement. They have a compression connection at both ends and are particularly useful for quick or wet repairs where the pipework needs to be reconnected mechanically.
The coupling is positioned over the pipe ends and the compression nuts are tightened to form the joint. Suitable lubricant should be used on the pipe to assist installation. PVC pressure pipe sizes are nominal, so the stated size is different from the measured pipe outside diameter.
These couplings are suited to repairs and straight-line connections in residential, commercial and agricultural irrigation, garden and landscape watering, domestic and rural water supply, pump systems, general water transfer and compatible PVC pressure pipework.
