Rotary tube cutters use a cutting wheel and support rollers to work around the outside of copper tubing. Gradually tightening the adjustment knob advances the cut through the tube wall. The Haron cutter also has an attached deburring tool to remove the raised edge inside the cut end.
Blade cutters cut plastic pipe and tubing against a supporting jaw. The Trademate ratchet cutter advances its blade in stages for PVC pipe and conduit, while the Tolsen cutter provides a hand-operated blade for PVC pipe. The Orbit cutter has spring-assisted handles for repeated cuts in flexible irrigation tubing.
The Hunter emitter multi-tool combines a tubing blade with punches and emitter-handling features. It prepares tubing lengths and helps insert or remove compatible emitters. Punches small starter holes for fitting drippers, and can also cut out larger holes for compatible emitters and connectors.
Use the cutter intended for the pipe material and check its cutting capacity against the outside diameter of the pipe. Nominal pipe size can differ from the measurement across the outside.
