Lowara 4OS05M/2W is a 0.55kW replacement motor for Lowara GS and other compatible 4-inch bore-pump ends. It can replace a failed motor while retaining a serviceable pump section.
For compatible Lowara GS and other 4-inch NEMA bore-pump ends.
For a Lowara GS pump end, matching models at this power are listed in the specifications. These two-wire motors can also be considered for compatible pump ends from other brands.
Starting equipment and motor protection are built into this two-wire motor. A separate capacitor starter box is not required. Automatic pressure or level control is a separate function.
The motor lead is included. The pump end, external control panel and cable jointing kit are not included. Extend the lead with correctly sized submersible cable and a waterproof joint suited to the installation.
Keep the motor submerged and provide water flow around its exterior for cooling. The standard water-temperature limit is 35°C with adequate cooling flow. A cooling sleeve may be needed in a wide bore or tank. Maximum motor submergence is 150m below the water surface. Do not run dry.
The oil-filled motor has windings that can be rewound during repair. It has a stainless-steel outer sleeve and a mechanical seal protected by a sand guard.
Replacement considerations
The standard NEMA connection allows cross-brand replacement where the pump and motor are correctly matched. Your installer needs to confirm that the motor can drive the pump and that the coupling, controls and installation suit the replacement. A higher motor rating does not by itself increase pump flow or pressure. Changing from a three-wire motor to a two-wire motor changes the starting arrangement.
If the installation uses a variable-speed controller, confirm the motor version before ordering. The 4OS installation manual specifies a specially ordered motor for frequency-converter operation.
Two-year warranty, subject to the applicable Australian Lowara supply terms and consumer rights.
