Galvanised Reducing Couplings have female BSP threads of different sizes at opposite ends. They join male threaded fittings or pipe ends of different sizes in a straight line.
The bodies are made from hot dip galvanised malleable iron for water, air and general pipework applications. Use suitable thread sealant or PTFE tape on the mating male BSP threads.
Avoid joining brass, galvanised and stainless steel fittings directly to one another. Use a plastic or other suitable non-conductive fitting or adaptor between different metals to prevent galvanic corrosion where water is present.
