PVC DWV sewer diverters are used in septic systems to direct effluent from the septic tank to either of two leach drains.
Moving the adjusting rod changes the position of the internal flap, allowing the effluent to be directed to either leach drain from above. This helps alternate between the drains so one is not continually loaded.
The diverter has one inlet socket and two outlet sockets. All three female sockets fit over matching PVC DWV pipe and are joined using PVC priming fluid and suitable non-pressure PVC solvent cement.
The body can be assembled for either left- or right-hand diversion to suit the pipe layout. Its enclosed design provides a sealed flow path through the diversion point.
An access riser can be installed over the adjusting rod when the diverter is below ground. The supplied rod can also be extended using the included spare extension pipe and joiner, allowing the flap to remain accessible from above. Riser pipe is not supplied unless stated.
PVC DWV pipe and fittings are identified by nominal size, which may differ from the measured pipe outside diameter. Please confirm the required pipe size, diversion direction and access height before installation.
