The Davey 5165H uses a Honda GX200 petrol engine and a single impeller for clean-water firefighting, irrigation and rural water transfer. It delivers up to 468L/min at 1.5m total suction lift, with head near shut-off of approximately 60m. These figures describe separate operating conditions. Actual flow depends on suction lift, delivery height and pipe resistance. Refer to the performance curve to assess expected flow.
The 40mm (1 1/2") BSP male inlet connects to a reinforced suction hose. Four male BSP outlets, two 40mm (1 1/2") and two 25mm (1"), allow different discharge-hose connections. Use clean, non-abrasive water and fit a strainer at the suction inlet.
The single-stage design suits water transfer where a useful flow rate and delivery pressure are both needed. The 196cc Honda GX200 overhead-valve engine has recoil starting and low-oil protection. A roll frame supports the pump and engine during transport and operation.
Fill the pump casing with water before starting, even when using its self-priming function. Position the pump level and close to the water source, with airtight suction connections. Maintain water flow while running and do not operate against closed outlets.
For extended irrigation or tank-filling operation, reduce engine speed to around 3000rpm, approximately three-quarter throttle. Prolonged full-throttle operation can shorten engine life.
Marine-grade aluminium pump components have a polyester coating for corrosion resistance. A carbon/ceramic mechanical seal and floating impeller neckrings support efficient operation. The clamped impeller construction allows access for clearing a blockage.
The pump wet end has a three-year warranty for eligible purchases from 1 July 2025, extendable to five years when serviced between the start of Year 2 and end of Year 3 by a registered Davey Service Agent, with proof of service. The Honda GX engine has a separate three-year manufacturer warranty, subject to its conditions.
